Structure Fire on AJ Drive

July 1, 2014 - Scott Township Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on AJ Drive. The initial call was for an investigation. Home owners reported they could smell and see light smoke in their home but could not find a source. Units were on scene for several minutes until they could locate the fire. A Firefighter found the dryer vent cover blown off the house and in the yard. It was believed it may have been struck by lightning. This caused some of the residue in the dryer vent to burn and spread to the plastic liner underneath the home. The fire was knocked out without major damage to the home.
