STFD Holds HazMat Training

November 14, 2013 - Scott Township Fire Department held HazMat Training this week. The task this week was to setup and discuss operations with our District 10 HazMat Decon trailer. STFD houses this trailer for IN D10. We practice this several times a year to ensure we are ready to respond when needed.


 
STFD Works MVA - Train VS. Truck

November 12, 2013 - Scott Township Fire Department was dispatched to a MVA with injuries. Dispatch advised while en route the accident was a train vs. truck. Upon arrival units found a small passenger truck vs. train. One minor patient needed transport and there was no extrication. A hand-line was deployed for safety.


 
STFD Works Residential Structure Fire in Abandoned House

November 1, 2013 - Scott Township Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire. Upon arrival of the first unit a single story structure was found. It was found to be an abandoned structure that appeared someone may have been living it. Fire attack was made and due to roof collapse most was Defensive. Due to long distance from the hydrant there were several issues with water supply. The fire was quickly brought under control.

STFD Trick or Treating

October 31, 2013 - Scott Township Fire Department continued taking a Fire Truck to some of the local neighborhoods for Trick or Treating this year. Station 1 went to Kingsmont subdivision, Station 2 went to Bridlewood subdivision, and Station 3 Participated in Trinity Lutheran Church's First Trunk or Treat.


 
STFD Works Accident w/ Minor Extrication

October 23, 2013 - Scott Township Fire Department was dispatched to West Baseline Road for an accident with injuries and possible extrication. Upon arrival units found a single vehicle accident into a ditch and a patient with handicap that could not get out. Pt was assisted out of the vehicle with minor extrication. Patient was transported to the hospital.
